Warm Cinnamon Apples for Fall Crockpot Recipe
The weather here has been cool and rainy, making it feel even more like
hurricane season fall is right around the corner. I’ve been craving warm cinnamon apples for a couple days now, and it just so happens I have 4 extra apples lying around! PERFECT! I remember making applesauce for MEO when she was a baby, so I basically followed the same (SUPER EASY!) concept to make these.
- 4 Gala Apples, peeled and cut into slices
- 2/3 cup 100% Organic Apple Juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Add all ingredients to crock pot & stir. Turn on low setting for 3 hours.
(To make this into applesauce, simply mash the apples up after they get soft (3-4 hours) and refrigerate!)
From the second I decided I was going to make these, I knew I wanted them atop some warm, cinnamon-vanilla pancakes. Bisquick for the win! These were SO yummy. After topping my pancakes with (literally) ALL the apples, there was a tasty syrup left in the crockpot that I poured over top of my plate of apple-cinnamon-pancake heaven.
But, alas, that was then and this is now. Now, it is 9pm, dinner is over, and I’m sitting here wishing I had more cinnamon apples.
