Acrylic Fluid Painting Experiments

I’ve been experimenting with acrylic paint, isopropyl alcohol, silicone oil and water these past couple weeks. Mixing different mediums into the paints makes them interact differently with each other — it can be almost mesmerizing watching them interact. I’m not having much luck with the large cells that I originally set out to create, but I’m liking how these are turning out too.

I’d like to get some kind of consistency going with these techniques and results – but for now, I have a bunch of random experimental pieces that I’m not sure what to do with. I drew on a couple of them (below), but that’s it so far.

This painting makes me think of mermaids
OBSESSED. I think dirty pours are the way to go. Best results always.
Do you see a Galaxy / Outerspace or the ocean?
This reminds me of Bermuda – bright colors, sunshine and beautiful waters

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? The secret formula to large cells?
